Nice spot, friendly person at counter.
Yard needed tending to and the rooms need some care (I.E. wires holding up curtains, smoke alarm hanging down from ceiling). Breakfast snack was very light.
Peice and location. All the people working there were very friendly
Run down, needs a lot of work! Curtains were ripped--pinned together, bathroom needed much updating!
The only positive thing I can say about Lake of the Sky Inn is that it was in a convenient location for us.
•There was mold all over the shower curtain and in the shower •The sink was dirty and stained •The room smelled like mildew and mold •There were water strains on the dresser across from the bed (clearly water had been dripping on it for quite some time) •The room made dripping and leaking noises all night. It sounded like we were in an aquarium •There was no A/C, just a cheap fan in the window in the bathroom and one on the dresser •The room felt so dirty that we took a blanket from our car and laid it down over the bed to sleep on and put clean t-shirts over the pillows •We ended up not staying the second night (for all the reasons just mentioned), but they would not refund our money. Also, I took pictures of all of this and would be happy to share them.
The front desk staff were wonderful and helpful. Location was perfect.
Mainly, the room was very small to have two queen sized beds. Dry cereal was what was offered for breakfast. Would have liked muffins and tea.
The room was very basic with no amenities. The breakfast on offer was take away. On the last day of our stay the room had no water supply. When trying to check in the staff told us there was no record of a reservation although we had a reservation / conformation number from Booked.net so who is in the wrong ?..
Convenient for walking through Tahoe City.
Coffee not hot --- Wondered why there was no coffee pot in the room. No ice available, either. Did not have a lake view as advertised. In order to see the lake, we had to step outside our room and turn right to see a bit of Lake Tahoe between the structures across the road. We did not get a room with a king-size bed per our reservation. Misrepresentation to be sure. I would only recommend Lake of the Sky if I add the above cautions.
Friendly Staff, very accommodating. (New Owners)
Ice machine was broken, minor inconvenience.
It hot water in the room was hit and miss. Unfortunately we missed it and had to revert to a cold shower in the morning
The room was clean, comfortable, and very inexpensive. But the best part about the hotel was the front desk staff. Each of the three times I interacted with them, they were quick, upbeat, courteous, and actually made my stay better with just their attitudes! Well done, and I will recommend this hotel to anyone who asks!
Perfect location to get to the lake in 2 minutes.
Can't say anything bad about the room. We needed a room for one night and the choice of this motor inn worked perfect for us, but if you need a hotel for a week you will get upset with the breakfast definetely. But in general it is very pleasantly decorated and it is clean.
For several nights - perfect, for a long stay - it depends.
Nothing, it was a $70.00 room for $170.00, I would spend another $20.00 and stay somewhere very nice. It was clean but the room was very small. The people were nice but way over priced. I could have stay at Squaw Valley for $20.00 more. Also they need to clean the pool or fix it it was green.
Please read above, price is way to high!
Good location. Staff were friendly.
Pool not working during our stay. Seemed relatively expensive compared to other similar establishments in same resort area.
Staff was very nice and the room was clean.
The photos on the website are much nicer than the place itself. Pool was half full and green, which in the summer was a little odd. Outside of the inn is not very appealing. Rooms were very clean but extremely dark with very little lighting.
